08/27/11 From the desk of Dick Wagner
I haven't been updating the news on my site for some time time and so it's time now to let you in on the current state of life and career.
I am currently two days home and in recovery from some major brain surgery. A large Blood Clot on my brain successfully removed by the brilliant neurosurgeon, Dr. Joseph Zabramski of Brett Michaels fame. The weather here in the valley of the sun has been consistently 110-115 , but it’s a dry heat just like pointing your hair blower directly into your face and hitting the full high button. It is hard to bear, but the hospital was like competing in the Iditarod in a nice new bikini. “This land is made for you and me”
I’ve been really focused on a short tour of Michigan, but the brain said NO, and I was forced to postpone all activities until November, where I’ll be able to try the Iditarod weather again. Oh well, I’ll be feeling great playing music with all my friends again. Writing songs for a couple films, for a couple video projects, have kept me busy and really happy at what I’ve come up with.
So, in spite of bullshit health, I am real good and looking to a positive future. That’s all I can say right now. gotta go to bed…Doctors orders. Oh yeah…!
The Book. Cant forget the book. Suzy Michelson, my editor and I just finished it, and like three different publishers are looking at it. Release date? Around the first of the year, 2012…That’s what I’m shooting for. It’s a nice little book about (What else), sex, drugs, and Rock n roll. Title?
Not Only Women Bleed
Vignettes from the heart of a rock musician
I think you’re gonna like it

Brief update: Dick Wagner made it well through surgery, and he's safe and sound and resting in his room. His surgeon was pleased with the results! He needs quiet the first 24 hours, but we will keep you posted. Thanks for the LOVE. It truly means the world to Dick. More updates tomorrow. xxx
Message from Dick Wagner
Greetings, I’m sitting in a hospital room in Scottsdale, awaiting surgery on Sunday. I’ve had to postpone my tour dates till November. The Magic Bag is rebooked for Nov 11. Surgery is for some bleeding in my brain, caused by a fall & banging my head on the edge of my pool. I thought nothing of it, but my doctor ordered a CT scan just in case. He found swelling/slow bleeding that needs to be relieved before I can fly to Michigan. My doctor is Dr Zabramski, the man who saved Brett Michael’s life. He’s also one of Gabrielle Giffords’ team. I’m in great hands. I’m feeling fine. Don’t worry. I’ll update you next week. We’re rebooking White’s Bar & all dates. My love to you all.

WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE 2:
Alice Cooper, Dick Wagner and Bob Ezrin are together again for the reprise of Alice Cooper's "Welcome to My Nightmare." The new album, "Welcome To My Nightmare 2" was introduced by Alice at his June 19, 2010 press conference in Clisson, France: "I'm very happy with working with [producer] Bob [Ezrin] again. It's 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare', and it's the next nightmare. Thirty years later, he has another nightmare, and this one is even worse than the last one.
"I [hadn't] worked with Bob in a long time. After the 35th anniversary of 'Nightmare', I said, 'Why don't we start writing something else?' And he said, 'Why don't we just do part two?' We'd never done part two, so I went, 'That's a great idea. Let's get me and you together, I think we can still get Steven Hunter and Dick Wagner. We'll put some of the original people on it and add some new people." ~ Alice Cooper
